Playa Blanca, LanzaroteCanary IslandsPlaya Blanca is a tranquil zone situated in the south of the island, approx. half an hour from the airport and the capital, Arrecife. It boasts the best climate of the island and lies on the nautical corridor between the neighboroughing island of Fuerteventura and the island of Los Lobos, seperated from Lanzarote via La Bocaina. Playa Blanca, started life as a small fishing village, traces of this heritage can still be seen on the beaches and the traditional port area. From this point, you can also take the ferry to Fuerteventura, which takes only 35 minutes. A very long costal path will take runs through Playa Blanca starting from the lighthouse of "Pechigera" in the west and ending at the small castle of "las Coloradas" in the east. Playa Balnca comprises 5 large beaches with fine sand ideal for families with children. Away from the hussle and bustle and close to the resort are the beaches of "Papagayo". Theses beautiful beaches and coves are protected from being developed and can be reached by car or water Taxi. |
